Your information

Your information is the information that’s required when you sign up for the site, as well as the information you choose to share.

If you are signing up to become a verified mortgage broker on Goodrate, you are required to provide information on your business and yourself for verification purposes.

Information you choose to share:

Your information also includes the information you choose to share on Goodrate, such as when you post a question or comment on someone’s question

It also includes the information you choose to share when you communicate with mortgage brokers, such as when you contact brokers using an email address, or using online communication tools.

Public information

When we use the phrase "public information" (which we sometimes refer to as "Everyone information"), we mean the information you choose to make public, as well as information that is always publicly available

can show up when someone does a search on Goodrate or on a public search engine Sometimes you will not be able to select an audience when you post something (like when you post a question or comment on a review). This is because some types of stories are always public stories.

Information that is always publicly available

The types of information listed below are always publicly available, and they are treated just like information you decided to make public:

Name: You can choose to have your display name, if you are not comfortable sharing your full name.

Profile Picture: If you are uncomfortable making any of these photos public, you can always delete them. If you logon using your facebook or twitter account, your profile picture will be used from your social media site account.

Email ID: These allow you to give out a custom link to your timeline or Page, receive email from Goodrate email address, and help make Goodrate Platform possible

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information in a number of ways, including:

directly from you, for example, when you provide information by phone, in application forms or other agreements, or when you submit your personal details through our websites;

from third parties such as our survey or competition websites, marketing websites, related companies, blogs

from publicly available sources of information

We will never sell your information to any party outside of Goodrate. We may occasionally hire other companies to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to handling customer support enquiries. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver the service. We may also disclose your personal information to mortgage broker when requested by you.

Use of your personal information

For each visitor to reach the site, we expressively collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the Site, page access times and referring website address. This collected information is used solely internally for the purpose of gauging visitor traffic, trends and delivering personalised content to you while you are at this Site.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will use for these new purposes only, data collected from the time of the policy change forward will adhere to our updated practices.
